Automated postflight troubleshooting

This invention describes a system that automatically checks aircraft for problems while they are moving on the ground. It uses sensors to detect an aircraft entering a specific area, identifies it by taking and analyzing an image, and then determines what parts of that specific aircraft need to be scanned. The system then scans the aircraft and analyzes the results to find any maintenance issues, potentially sending this information to a maintenance system and checking if the aircraft is a subscriber for priority.

Why it matters: Filed before modern computer vision and machine learning could efficiently analyze images for anomalies. Sensor systems are now cheaper and more capable for real-time scanning.
