Water filtration system

This describes a method for checking a water filtration system that uses multiple tubular capillary membranes. A computer automatically tests each membrane housing, identifying failures by detecting pressure drops. If a membrane unit fails, the system can isolate it, allowing the remaining units to continue filtering water.

Why it matters: Since 2012, the cost and power of embedded computing and sensor technology have significantly improved. This makes the automated, real-time diagnostic and isolation process for membrane integrity, as described in the claims, much more feasible and efficient to implement today.
