Apparatus, systems and methods for manufacturing food products

This invention describes a way to make round pet treats. It involves taking a ground mixture of protein and other ingredients, dividing it into small, uniform pieces, and then placing these pieces on a moving belt. Another belt above it presses down on the pieces while also wiggling side-to-side, which rolls them into a spherical shape.

Why it matters: The complex, precise motion control required for the oscillating belt was costly in 2011. Modern, affordable servo motors and modular automation systems could now make this process more economically viable.
