Method and apparatus for efficiently targeting multiple re-entry vehicles with multiple kill vehicles

This invention describes a system to destroy multiple objects within a target cloud. It works by first detecting objects, then illuminating selected ones with unique laser codes. Multiple miniature kill vehicles are launched, each initially guided ballistically towards a specific object by tracking its unique laser code reflection, before an onboard infrared sensor takes over for the final approach.
