This invention describes a long, single-pass printhead made from a plastic body that channels ink to several small chips. Each chip has many tiny nozzles for ejecting ink. A special heat-activated adhesive film attaches these chips to the plastic body, with microscopic grooves on the chips drawing the adhesive in to create a perfect seal for the ink channels. The film itself can have precisely drilled holes to align with the ink paths.
