Target interception

This invention describes a system for shooting down targets using a central body equipped with multiple barrels arranged around it. Each barrel holds several projectiles stacked end-to-end, and each projectile has its own individual explosive charge. A controller can fire these charges one by one to launch projectiles, and the system can be mounted on a vehicle with a flight controller to guide its trajectory.

Why it matters: Modern miniaturized electronics and advanced flight control algorithms make precise individual projectile deployment and vehicle guidance significantly more feasible. These capabilities were nascent in 2003.
