Electrode for obtaining a biopotential signal

This invention describes an electrode designed to measure electrical signals from the skin, like those from muscles or the heart. It sticks to the skin with an adhesive and contains a conductive pad and a gel-soaked sponge. To get a clearer signal, the electrode has tiny abrasive elements, such as small teeth or knife-like edges, integrated into the conductive pad.
