Hyperoxic breathing system

This invention describes a system for breathing air with a higher concentration of oxygen than normal, typically for exercise. It works by combining oxygen from a source with ambient air using a demand-flow valve and a venturi valve. The resulting oxygen-enriched air then passes through a one-way valve to a breathing mask, with a storage chamber (plenum) also included in the system.

Why it matters: The classification mentions oxygen concentrators. Since 2004, oxygen concentrator technology has become significantly more compact and efficient, making the oxygen source for such a system more portable and practical.
