Inkjet printer with in-built drying compartment

This invention describes an inkjet printer that includes a special drying area. After printing, the paper or other material is fed into this area, where it hangs in a loose, U-shaped loop. A heater and fan then blow warm air down into this loop from above, helping the ink dry quickly and efficiently on the suspended material.

Why it matters: Since 2005, industrial inkjet printing speeds have increased and the range of printable media, including tension-sensitive films, has expanded. This design offers a compact, integrated, and potentially gentler drying solution for high-throughput applications.
