Logistics module system and method

This invention describes a two-stage rocket system for launching cargo into Earth orbit. The first stage, a launch assist platform, uses at least three rocket engines powered by liquid oxygen and kerosene. The second stage, called an orbital vehicle, detaches and uses its own liquid oxygen and kerosene engines to reach orbit. This orbital vehicle includes a logistics module, which is a cylindrical container with an opening hatch for cargo and a retractable arm for docking.

Why it matters: Filed before the significant advancements in commercial space launch and the push for modular on-orbit servicing. The logistics module and grapple fixture are now highly relevant for in-space assembly, refueling, and maintenance, which have become more feasible and sought-after capabilities.
