Embedded architecture using inter-processor communication and in memory database for rapid creation of industrial protocol converters

This invention describes a way for a central device, called a gateway, to collect information from various industrial sensors. It uses a special database that stores data in the computer's fast memory and keeps it even after a restart. This database provides a standard way for different sensor readers to feed in data, regardless of the sensor's original communication method, storing it in time-ordered lists called data pipelines and events pipelines before it can be sent to a remote server.
