Automated identification, status monitoring and notification of stored items

This invention describes a system that uses sensors to keep track of items in a storage area. It measures the weight and surface area of each item. A computer program then learns from this information to identify and monitor what's stored. The system can also optionally use images of the items to improve its identification.
