Aerial Vehicle Interception System

This invention describes a system for defending against airborne threats using a fleet of defensive drones. These drones, specifically multi-rotor vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), are stored in a housing system and controlled by a central unit that communicates with a targeting system and an operator interface. When a threat is detected, one or more drones are launched, with at least one drone equipped to strike and neutralize the target.

Why it matters: Since 2018, significant advancements in autonomous drone technology, swarm intelligence, and real-time AI for threat detection and interception have matured. These developments make the coordinated operation of multiple defensive UAVs, as claimed, more practical.
