Systems and methods for monitoring and controlling water consumption

This invention describes a system to prevent water pipes from freezing. It works by using a temperature sensor to detect if the temperature at a pipe location drops too low. If it does, the system automatically sends a signal to a special valve to shut off the water flow and drain the water from that pipe, which stops it from freezing and potentially bursting.
