Stable identification of entity mentions

This invention describes a system that keeps track of specific mentions of things, like people or places, within documents that are constantly changing. It works by processing these documents, identifying every mention of an entity, and then assigning a unique, permanent ID to each mention. This ID stays with the mention even if the document is edited, allowing other systems to reliably refer back to specific pieces of information over time.

Why it matters: Filed before widespread LLM capabilities. LLMs can now significantly enhance entity recognition and document change analysis, simplifying core challenges of this system.
