Compensating for bias in search results

This invention describes a system to help users get more accurate search results. When someone types a search query, the system looks for words that might introduce bias. It then suggests ways to rephrase the search query to get a more neutral or balanced set of results. Additionally, it can compare the information found in search results against trusted sources to highlight inaccuracies and even show content from those reliable sources.

Why it matters: Filed before advanced large language models became widely available. The core tasks of identifying biasing terms in queries and generating reformulation suggestions, which were complex in 2020, are now significantly more feasible and effective with current AI capabilities.
