Vehicle guidance systems and associated methods of use at logistics yards and other locations

This invention describes an autonomous robot vehicle, like a yard tractor, designed to move cargo trailers around a logistics yard. It uses a special hitch to connect to trailers and a radar system to precisely locate them and guide itself for docking. The system is meant to automatically pick up trailers from parking spots and move them to loading docks, or vice versa, following a central plan.
