Item delivery optimization

This invention describes a system that helps deliver items by managing access to locked locations. When a delivery is planned, a computer system identifies any smart locks along the route to the recipient's location. It then sends a special digital key or code over the internet to the delivery person's device or an automated delivery robot, allowing them to temporarily unlock the smart lock and complete the delivery.

Why it matters: The increasing prevalence of smart locks in residential and commercial settings, alongside the maturation of automated delivery devices since 2019, makes the secure, temporary access described in the claims more practical and necessary for efficient logistics.
