Treatment instrument and high-voltage connectors for robotic surgical system

This invention describes a robotic system designed to deliver electrical therapy. It uses a robotic arm that holds a special high-voltage connector. Attached to this connector is a treatment tip housing, from which a smaller electrode housing extends. This smaller housing can retract back into the main tip, protecting multiple needle electrodes inside. An internal guide prevents these needle electrodes from bending as they retract.

Why it matters: Since 2020, surgical robotics have become more precise and integrated, while high-voltage pulse generation for therapies like nsPEF has matured. This makes the complex integration of such a system potentially more robust and practical.
