Distinguishing real from virtual objects in immersive reality

This invention describes a system that helps people tell the difference between real things and virtual things when they are in an immersive experience, like augmented reality. A camera watches the user and the space, and a computer figures out which objects are virtual projections. Then, a separate projector changes how these virtual objects appear, for example, by putting an overlay on them or making them lower resolution, so the user knows they are not physically present.
