This invention describes a central communication system that acts as a hub for managing smart devices. When a user's phone wants to send a command to a local smart device that uses a different network type, the phone sends that command to the central system. The central system then identifies the correct management system for that smart device and forwards the command, also handling information flowing back to the user's phone.
