Automatic keyword pass-through system

This invention describes a system for earphones that automatically lets in outside sounds when it hears a specific keyword. It works by listening for keywords using a microphone inside the ear canal. If that inner microphone detects the keyword, the system either adjusts how much outside sound is passed through to the user, or modifies the audio content the user is listening to.
