Motion sensitive lighting devices

This invention describes a smart light fixture that uses a motion sensor to detect movement. When motion is detected, the light can turn itself on or send a wireless signal to activate other lights. It can also receive wireless signals from other devices, like cameras or other lights, to turn on.

Why it matters: Since 2019, the maturation of smart home communication protocols like Matter has made it much simpler for networked lighting devices to reliably communicate and coordinate. Component costs for sensors and wireless modules have also continued to decrease.
