Battery management system

This invention describes a smart system for managing a battery. It uses sensors to constantly check the battery's current, voltage, and temperature. Based on these readings, it calculates the battery's internal resistance and temperature, then predicts how its voltage and temperature will behave in the near future, specifically using a mathematical "transfer function" involving Fourier transforms. Finally, it uses these predictions to decide whether to charge the battery from a power plant or discharge power from it.

Why it matters: Filed before widespread availability of high-performance, low-power embedded processors and mature signal processing libraries. These advancements now simplify implementing the real-time Fourier transforms and predictive models described.
