This invention describes a system for monitoring a user's body chemicals, like glucose, using a sensor placed under the skin. A separate monitoring device receives information from this sensor, including a unique identifier. Based on this information, the monitoring device can automatically change its settings without user input, specifically whether or not to display the chemical levels to the user.
