System and method for generating an adaptive embodied conversational agent configured to provide interactive virtual coaching to a subject

This invention describes a computer system that creates a personalized digital coach. It gathers information about a person, like their physical state or behavior, to develop a custom coaching plan. Then, it generates a visual and/or audio digital character, an "embodied conversational agent," to deliver this plan interactively on a screen. The system can also use sensors to understand a person's verbal and non-verbal cues to adapt the coaching.
