Pivot interface element for a messaging system

This invention describes a messaging system designed to make starting group conversations easier. When you begin typing in what appears to be a private message window, the system observes your actions and tries to predict if you actually intend to start a group chat instead. If it determines you want a group, it can then dynamically suggest people to add based on your social connections, past activities, or relationships. The core idea is to intelligently pivot from a one-on-one interface to a group one based on your inferred intent.

Why it matters: Filed before the widespread adoption of advanced AI for intent prediction and social graph analysis. Modern machine learning, particularly LLMs, could now make the complex intent detection and dynamic group suggestion much more accurate and easier to implement than in 2016.
