Video redaction method and system

This invention describes a system that automatically blurs or hides sensitive objects in a video. It then helps someone manually review the blurred video by speeding up or slowing down the playback based on how confident the system was about its blurring decisions. If the system was very sure it blurred everything correctly, the video plays faster; if it was less sure, it slows down for closer inspection.

Why it matters: Filed before the widespread adoption of highly accurate deep learning models for object detection. Today, these models provide much more reliable probability scores, making the adaptive review process claimed here far more effective.
